Cadet of The Year
Each year, cadets and Enrichment Teachers are asked to nominate outstanding cadets to be chosen as the Cadet of The Year.
Candidates chosen must meet the following criteria:

- Must be 11th or 12th grade teacher cadet
- Must not have been a previous cadet of the year nominee.
- Must have cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher at their school
- Must have earned 5 or more BJC passes with ‘C’ grade or above including Mathematics and English Language
- Must have attended 90% or more of weekly school meetings
- Must be active at their school and in their communities.
- Must be enthusiastic about the teaching profession (submit a video “Why I want to be a teacher”)
- Must have completed 90% of online assignments.
- Must have participated in at least one national competition.
- Must be exemplary in conduct at school
- Must be an ambassador for the Future Teachers of The Bahamas programme
Hannah Percentie is a 16 year old student of the eleventh grade at L N Coakley High School. She is a Principal’s List student, with a grade point average of 3.70. She has earned 7 BJC subject passes including five As. In addition to her extracurricular activities with the Teacher Cadet cohort at her school, Hannah is member of the Debate Team, the Junior Local Government, where she serves as Chief Counsellor and the school Student Government where she serves as secretary.
Hannah is a future Mathematics teacher. She has a passion for seeing children grow beyond what they think they are capable of doing and believes in differentiated instruction and making lessons come alive for students by finding ways that she can relate lessons to them. Her advisor is Ms. Dametra Moss, a teacher at the L N Coakley High School. |
